It really is more blessed to give than to receive.  Jesus wasn’t kidding.  On Saturday morning our little team set out into the rainy streets of Boone armed with 500 cookies from a local bakery- our mission?  To surprise all the employee’s of Boone with a small piece of delicious and a word of thanks for working in all the stores.  So, we set out to the aisles of Walmart and Lowes, and the check out lanes of the local grocery and bakery and florist, bowling alley, Goodwill, and Vacuum Store.  The Police Stations, Fire Stations, and Restaurants were collectively HAPPY TO RECEIVE COOKIES!!!!  The Barista at Starbucks was genuinely shocked and moved and touched in every good and right way and offered our team anything we wanted on the house.  The florist did the same, gifting back with a beautiful rose.  There were smiles all around, all around Boone for a wonderful couple hours.  This is what we call “neighboring”- just surprising folks for the simple joy of saying, “you matter.”

Sunday evening our team gathered in a local venue (Galileo’s) for a worship night, while high winds were blowing and freezing rain was falling, so once again our crowds were small.  But we sang loud and the Mountainside Worship band led us with beautifully. We loved the venue and the owner and hope to worship there again soon!

We are growing, deeper in courage and vision of how to love this town we are called to.  We are growing, deeper in our friendships with one another.  We are growing, deeper in our conviction to move from remedial to reaching and daring and hoping.  We are growing. Please keep us in your prayers.
